Position: Pharmacy Assistant

Number of Positions: 1

Duration: Full time, Permanent

Education requirement: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience requirement: Minimum 1 year.

Start Date: As soon as possible

Wage: $20.50/hour, 32 to 35 hours per week.

Job Duties:

·      Prepare invoice and bill third party Insurers

·      Check prescriptions for completeness.

·      Take prescriptions from clients and fax machine and record customer information and prescription details in computer system.

·      Compound ointments, oral solutions and creams.

·      Assist pharmacist and other staff with preparing, packaging and labelling of pharmaceutical drugs.

·      May maintain inventory under the direction and supervision of pharmacist.

·      Receive delivery in a secure environment and put away inventory in appropriate location.

·      Provide general assistance with daily activities in pharmacy.

·      Ensure stock rotation is done and expired products are removed from shelves.

·      Ensure regular replenishment of medications and supplies.

·      Follow standard operating procedure and Pharmacist direction and adhere to all legal requirements of provincial, federal and bylaw’s regulations

·      Organize and maintain cleanliness of workspace.

·      Assist customers in finding over the counter items and redirect them to pharmacist for more information.
