Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler, BC is currently looking for a Kitchen Supervisor to join our team.
Position: Kitchen Supervisor
Reports To – Executive Chef / Sous Chef
Position Summary
The Kitchen Supervisor will primarily be responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of kitchen support staff, including stewarding, dishwashing, and prep team members, to ensure effective day-to-day kitchen operations.
This role supports the overall efficiency of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, ensuring food preparation readiness, and coordinating workflow between prep, line, and stewarding functions. The Supervisor maintains facilities and high standards of sanitation, ensures compliance with food safety requirements, and promotes a positive team environment aligned with company culture and operational goals.
Main Job Duties
· Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen prep, dishwashers, stewards, and food service support staff
· Delegate tasks appropriately and support team members as required to maintain operational flow
· Monitor staff performance and provide training and feedback
· Liaise with culinary leadership to ensure smooth coordination between prep, line, and stewarding teams
· Ensure that food preparation support activities are completed in alignment with production timelines and service needs
· Maintain a consistently high level of cleanliness and organization across all kitchen and stewarding areas
· Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, including proper handling and storage of equipment and food items
· Conduct regular checks of dishwashing, waste management, and prep areas to ensure standards are being met
· Support and oversee prep team activities to ensure ingredients and mise en place are prepared according to operational requirements
· Ensure staff compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies
· Assist in training new team members and support ongoing development of the stewarding and prep teams
· Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and kitchen support materials and communicate ordering needs
· Support cost control by ensuring proper use of supplies and labour resources
· Maintain clear communication with culinary leadership regarding workflow, priorities, and operational challenges
· Support kitchen operations during peak service periods to ensure efficiency and service readiness
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
· Completion of secondary school is required.
· A minimum of 2 years of experience in food service or food preparation is required.
· Both written and oral English skills are required.
· Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to coach, train, and motivate team members
· Computer literacy, including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and email
· Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks as required.

Wage: $20.50 – $24.00 per hour
Work Hours: 32-40 hours per week
