Kelly O’Bryan’s Neighbourhood Restaurant, Kelowna, BC is looking for six (6) First Cooks for our location at 262 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, BC V1Y 6N4. This is a permanent full-time position with 30-35 hours per week, $18.00 per hour.
The job duties are as follows:
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Manage kitchen operations
• Monitor and order supplies
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas
• Order supplies and equipment
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Clean kitchen and work areas
Successful candidates must have the following credentials:
• Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience as a Cook
• Be able to communicate in English
• Should be willing to take on leadership roles
• Flexible hours between day & night shifts
• Have knowledge of inventory control
• Proper use of kitchen tools and equipment and lock out procedures
• Knife skills and common cuts
• Basic understanding of culinary terminology
• Ability and willingness to complete Food Safe Level I
• Ability and willingness to complete WHMIS or equivalent (workplace hazards training)
• Understand and implement proper fire safety procedures (training provided)
