COLONY MAIN STREET ( Main Central Entertainment Ltd) is currently looking for LINE COOK to join our fast paced team! Ideal candidates should be friendly, hard-working, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and work with little supervision.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
As our Closing Cook, you’ll run evening service in our group’s Test Kitchen, consistently producing guest favourites and testing new menu items under the guidance of our Regional Chef. This position is an excellent chance for an experienced Line Cook to step up to leadership in a supportive, growth-oriented culture. Job Title: Line Cook
Term of employment: Contract Full Time 2 years/ Renewable. 40 hours per week.
Start day: As soon as possible
Shift(s): 5 Days a week / Flexible schedule including Weekend.

Wage: $ 16 to 20 per hour ( To be negotiated)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensure Food preparation is complete.
Deliver quality, prepares or supports others in preparation of all menu items, as per preparation and plating guidelines.
Manage Kitchen operation, maintain constant communication with all other kitchen team members, as well as front of house and leadership.
Participating in a regular deep cleaning schedule, ensuring the highest standard of cleanliness at all times, working proactively to reduce wastage while keeping the quality bar high (stock rotation, preparing correct parts, participating in deep clean on schedule.
Supervise Kitchen staff and helpers
Undertake stock rotation, support inventory management process.
May be assigned a specific station in a kitchen, which will rotate for training and coverage purposes.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
1- 2 years proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook.
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Must have knowledge of and follow sanitation procedures.
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Familiar with industry best practices
Be able to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend and stand repeatedly.
