Job summary:

Rau Bistro is an updated Vietnamese street food restaurant concept designed to provide Calgarians with a lively urban hangout offering a variety of Vietnamese flavors in a modern setting.

We are currently looking for a skilled cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s standardized menus.

This vacancy is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, newcomers, refugees, youths, and others.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Vietnamese fusion dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards.
  • Ensure that food is cooked and presented in an appealing and consistent manner.
  • Monitor food quality and taste to maintain high standards of flavor and appearance.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and workstations.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking ingredients and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the chef and management team to develop new menu items and specials.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Min 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Completion of high school is required.
  • Multitasking skills and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift, and carry up to 40lbs.
