· Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate transportation operations.
· Establish transportation service rates, key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational targets.
· Prepare performance and operational reports for senior management.
· Coordinate shipping documentation and oversee scheduling, dispatching, and shipment tracking.
· Recruit, train, supervise, and assign staff involved in shipping, receiving, warehousing, distribution, and inventory control.
· Negotiate service agreements and preferential rates with carriers, warehouse operators, and insurance providers.
· Manage end-to-end logistics operations, including order processing, carrier coordination, shipment setup, pickup scheduling, dispatch, and tracking.
· Develop, manage, and control departmental budgets.
· Oversee transportation and warehousing activities, including route planning, fleet management, dispatch operations, and workforce coordination.
· Develop and implement operational policies and procedures, including safety standards and compliance with federal and provincial regulations (e.g., Transportation of Dangerous Goods).
· Monitor departmental performance and recommend operational improvements to enhance efficiency and service levels.
· Develop and implement procedures for transportation, storage, and distribution activities.
