Job summary:

Parkway Human Resource Consulting Inc. is a staffing and education agency with experience in the employment and education industry. We offer a wide range of staffing services such as general labor, semi-skilled worker, healthcare manpower, and education services from secondary school to university across Canada. We are looking for a Recruitment Specialist to undertake all hiring activities, from advertising open roles to interviewing candidates and closing hires. Recruitment Specialist responsibilities include connecting with potential candidates online and offline, screening applications and supporting hiring managers. If you have experience evaluating candidates for roles of various fields, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will be responsible for hiring qualified people while maintaining a positive candidate experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify staffing needs, both current and future, and develop plans to meet those needs,
  • Create and post job openings on various platforms, including advertisements,
  • Network with potential hires through professional groups on social media and during events,
  • Screen and evaluate potential job candidates’ applications to determine their suitability for the role,
  • Advise job applicants on the terms and conditions of employment and employment requirements,
  • Contact suitable candidates for interviews and coordinate the selection and examination process,
  • Notify candidates of the results of the selection process and prepare job offers,
  • Provide guidance to clients and employees regarding staffing policies and procedures,
  • Administer staff consultation, and supervisor personnel clerks,
  • Determine employee eligibility for benefits and arrange staff training and development opportunities,
  • Provide information and services to employees, such as employee assistance and counselling.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree or college diploma in business administration, HR management or related field
  • Min 2 years of experience in a similar role and experience in a clerical position
  • Knowledge of sourcing techniques on social media and niche professional websites like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Github,
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems,
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients, job candidates, and employees,
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workloads and meet deadlines,
  • Ability to supervise 2-3 people.
