MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Consult with clients on stylistic options for their hair, provide hairstyle suggestions compatible with clients’ physical features
· Listen to client needs to determine style from their preferences
· Build a personal relationship with clients to ensure return visits
· Produce desired effect by arranging, shaping, curling, cutting, trimming, perming, styling, setting, bleaching, dyeing, and tinting hair
· May shampoo, rinse, dry hair and provide basic treatment for scalp and hair
· Adhere to salon safety and cleanliness standards
· Manage bookings and welcoming clients into the store
· Keep updated on hairstyle trends and styling methods
· Maintain supplies by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing orders; verifying receipt
· Maintain quality service by following hair salon standards
· Assist to train hairstylist apprentices and helpers
REQUIREMENTS:
· Secondary School education or above in hairstyling program combined with on-the-job training
is required or completion of 2 years+ hairstyling apprenticeship program
· Minimum 2 years of work experience as Hairstylist
· Provide a hairstyling demonstration before being hired is required
· Physical stamina
· Good verbal communication
· A wide pallet of styling techniques
Wage: CAD 23-25/Hour
Work Hours: 30-40 Hours per Week
