Blind Bay Village Grocer is looking for a Full-Time First Cook (NOC 6322-B) to join our growing team! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 hours per week. Wage is $21.00/hour with dental and medical insurance benefits.
Job Description:
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods as per Blind Bay Village Grocer standards approved by the manager on duty.
• Cooking and handling of food, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements, check inventory levels and monitor and order supplies.
• Supervise and train deli clerks and kitchen staff regarding preparation, cooking, handling of food and other kitchen and food service operations.
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas.
• Principal set up and break-down of kitchen and cleaning. Clean kitchen and work area.
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
Job Requirements:
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Cook. Previous experience in a grocery/deli setting is an asset.
• Minimum completion of High School. Further training in culinary is an asset.
• Valid Food Safe Level 1
• Language in the workplace is English
