Experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic – Day Shift

Salary: $36.00–$47.00/hour (depending on experience)

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of highway transport truck systems.
  • Check and test mechanical components to locate defects and faults.
  • Inspect mechanical units to identify defects and malfunctions.
  • Inspect the engine while running.
  • Review work orders.
  • Road-test motor vehicles.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts or components in various vehicle systems.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of heavy-duty truck systems.
  • Repair or replace mechanical parts or components.
  • Test repaired systems and adjust them according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance.
  • Complete reports documenting defects and work performed.
  • Diagnose and repair air conditioning systems (ASSET).
  • Diagnose and repair Webasto/Espar heating systems (ASSET).
  • Diagnose and repair Autoclima air conditioning systems (ASSET).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Vocational Diploma (DEP in Quebec or DVS else in Canada) in heavy-duty truck mechanics
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the field
  • Sense of responsibility, Judgment, Reliable, Team spirit, Punctuality, Attention to detail, Manual dexterity
  • Ability to work independently
  • Valid driver’s license (class 5) and good driving record
  • PEP certification (asset)
  • Halocarbon certification (asset)
  • Class 1 or 3 license (asset)
